I used to brew beer competitively. At one event, early on, I won several first and second place ribbons and numerous honorable mentions. That year, the judges were brilliant. The next year, when I tanked, the judges were STUPID. Just REALLY STUPID.
Democrat Congressman Gary Ackerman via
Bloomberg Businessweek:
Society has changed. The public is to blame as well. I think the people have gotten dumber. I don’t know that I would’ve said that out loud pre-my announcement that I was going to be leaving. [Laughter] But I think that’s true. I mean everything has changed. The media has changed. We now give broadcast licenses to philosophies instead of people. People get confused and think there is no difference between news and entertainment. People who project themselves as journalists on television don’t know the first thing about journalism. They are just there stirring up a hockey game.
(emphasis added)
The problem, for Dems and RINOs is not that we are less informed, it's that we're ill-informed. We listen to Rush Limbaugh, who is JUST an entertainer, or we watch FOX News, which after all isn't real news.
Or we read the
NewsBusters blog that shows that
media bias exists in practically every aspect of the legacy media.
These people who are dissatisfied with how things are going have relied on the usual channels of information their whole lives. Two words. Echo chamber. The old media, the "real" news, has been demonstrated to be pro-liberal in a right of center nation.
And since we're not agreeing with the "balanced" viewpoint anymore, since we're seeking other venues, since some of us are actually reading the Constitution, we're dumber. Lazy.
What is inconvenient here is that the new media are only ones covering stories like "Fast and Furious". If we watched the relics of the old major networks, we'd NEVER HAVE HEARD of hero
Brian Terry.
Brian Terry?
Who's that?
And why can't anyone in the Democrat party remember him?
Horrible people.
Oh well.
One plans on spending his remaining days informing himself in the same sane manner, by seeking out the truth.
